  • A switch is more efficient at passing along traffic with better traffic management.
  • Switch can allow multiple simultaneous packet deliveries from different sources to different receivers.
  • VLAN can be created in switch and there is ability to isolate the traffic


Why is the use of CAT5e cable better than the use of Fiber? What are the disadvantages of UTP (Unshielded Twisted Pair)?

CAT5e also call Ethernet , Unshielded twisted pair cable.

Advantages:

  1. it is cheaper
  2. low bandwidth but good for networking
  3. easy to install
  4. easy to maintain
  5. speed is low ..

Disadvantages:

  1. Not Secure .
  2. More Susceptible for sniffing and Electro magnetic interference (EMI).
